How to Use Short Drama API

Complete developer guide to integrating with APIShort. Learn how to access 20+ short drama platforms with 143+ endpoints using simple REST API calls.

1 Overview

APIShort is a realtime transparent proxy that provides unified API access to 20+ short drama platforms. Instead of building separate integrations for each platform, you can access all of them through a single, consistent API.

All data is fetched directly from each platform in realtime. The API returns JSON responses and requires a free API key for authentication.

Key Features

Realtime data from 20+ platforms, 143+ endpoints, free tier with 100 requests/day, paid plans from $6/week (Rp 99.000).

2 Getting Started

Getting started with APIShort takes less than 2 minutes:

  1. Go to apishort.com/login and sign in with Google
  2. Your API key is generated instantly in the Dashboard
  3. Use the API key in your requests via the X-API-Key header

3 Authentication

Every API request requires authentication. Send your API key using one of these methods:

Option 1: Header (Recommended)

curl -H "X-API-Key: YOUR_API_KEY" \ "https://apishort.com/v1/shortmax/api/v1/popular?lang=id"

Option 2: Query Parameter

curl "https://apishort.com/v1/shortmax/api/v1/popular?lang=id&api_key=YOUR_API_KEY"

4 Available Platforms (20)

APIShort supports the following short drama platforms:

Each platform has its own set of endpoints. Browse all platforms at /platforms.

5 Common Endpoints

The base URL pattern is: https://apishort.com/v1/{platform}/{endpoint}

Most platforms support these common endpoint types:

  • Popular - Get trending/popular dramas
  • New/Latest - Recently added dramas
  • Search - Search dramas by keyword
  • Categories - Browse by genre/category
  • Detail - Full drama information
  • Episodes - Episode list and details
  • Languages - Available language options

6 Code Examples

JavaScript (fetch)

const API_KEY = 'YOUR_API_KEY'; const BASE = 'https://apishort.com/v1'; // Get popular dramas from ShortMax const res = await fetch(`${BASE}/shortmax/api/v1/popular?lang=id&page=1`, { headers: { 'X-API-Key': API_KEY } }); const data = await res.json(); console.log(data);

Python (requests)

import requests API_KEY = "YOUR_API_KEY" BASE = "https://apishort.com/v1" # Search dramas on DramaBox r = requests.get( f"{BASE}/dramabox/search?kw=love", headers={"X-API-Key": API_KEY} ) print(r.json())

PHP

$apiKey = "YOUR_API_KEY"; $url = "https://apishort.com/v1/reelshort/popular?page=1"; $ch = curl_init($url); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_HTTPHEADER, ["X-API-Key: $apiKey"]); curl_setopt($ch, CURLOPT_RETURNTRANSFER, true); $response = json_decode(curl_exec($ch)); print_r($response);

7 Error Handling

The API returns standard HTTP status codes:

  • 200 - Success
  • 401 - Missing or invalid API key
  • 403 - Plan expired or insufficient permissions
  • 429 - Rate limit exceeded (free plan: 100/day)
  • 502 - Upstream platform temporarily unavailable
  • 504 - Upstream platform timeout
Tip

Always check the response status code before parsing. On 502/504 errors, retry after a few seconds as the upstream platform may be temporarily slow.

8 Rate Limits & Plans

APIShort offers flexible pricing:

  • Free - 100 requests/day, all endpoints, all platforms
  • Weekly - $6/week (Rp 99.000) - Unlimited requests, priority speed
  • Monthly - $15/month (Rp 249.000) - Unlimited requests, fastest speed, priority support

View full pricing details at /pricing.

9 Best Practices

  • Cache responses locally if you don't need realtime data for every request
  • Use pagination parameters (page, pageSize) to limit response size
  • Handle errors gracefully - upstream platforms can occasionally be slow
  • Store your API key securely - never expose it in client-side code
  • Use the language parameter - most endpoints support lang=id for Indonesian content
  • Try endpoints interactively on our API documentation page before coding
